The panel will examine the drivers for change across the globe and the challenges that are unique to Africa. Each panellist will outline their vision and what it takes to be successful today.
XXX will host the panel and share his thoughts on the future of the African market. This is an opportunity to hear some unique perspective on the evolution of networking in Africa and how different organisations are approaching this dynamic market.

Nic Blamire

Nic Blamire is the Commercial Manager, Africa at Epsilon and has held the position for the last 3 Years. He is the first Epsilon representative to be based in the region.

Nic has over 2 decades of experience in the industry and has been responsible for Africa Region. Nic has held previous senior positions with industry-leading fibre and submarine cable providers, as well as satellite operators. He was part of the Telecom Italia Sparkle team providing initial data services into the region and established the Africa Broadcast Satellite, Johannesburg Office, as one of its Directors.

Building on the partnership, in conjunction with WIOCC, Nic has been focused on establishing Epsilon’s first Points of Presence in Africa. The first Infiny enabled services will be serviced from Johannesburg and Cape Town, with further development planned in West and East Africa.

Sherman Peh

As Epsilon’s Public Relations Manager, Sherman is responsible for driving the company’s communications strategy as well as media and analyst relations. He has over six years of experience in B2C and B2B public relations across industries including technology, payment card services, FMCG and non-profit.  

Prior to joining Epsilon, Sherman was Senior Account Executive at Fleishman-Hillard Singapore serving clients under the Technology practice. Sherman holds a Bachelor of Communication in Communication & Media Studies and Public Relations from Murdoch University.

Darren Bedford

As Chief Development officer, Darren’s responsibilities include planning and implementing business development strategies and expanding WIOCC’s network coverage across the region.

Prior to joining WIOCC, Darren was Head of Terrestrial and Subsea Expansion at PCCW and was responsible for the expansion of Gateway’s African network. Before that, Darren was Commercial Director for Aerosat, one of South Africa’s first wireless internet start-up.
